Bunny Keeps Shedding

It looks like your rabbit is loosing hair or shedding, well it is! molting is when a rabbit looses its coat (shedding) and grows a new coat, this is also known as blowing their coat. a molt can last from 2 to 6 weeks, or more, it varies from rabbit to rabbit and from breed to breed. the rabbit molts regularly at different stages in its life.. Rabbits shed alot in the summer, they all have different fur types and depending on the fur type some will shed more than others. in the sun and heat typically the top layer of fur will come off to keep the rabbit cooler on its own.. Rabbits will shed in different ways. some rabbits will take a couple of weeks or more to loose their old coat of fur. other rabbits will be ready to get rid of their old coats all in one day and these rabbits are the ones that cannot be neglected once they start shedding..

Bunny 911 - if your rabbit hasn't eaten or pooped in 12-24 hours, call a vet immediately! don't have a vet? check out vet resources . the subject of intentional breeding or meat rabbits is prohibited. the answers provided on this board are for general guideline purposes only.. Best answer: i raise netherland dwarfs and sometimes it takes them a while to molt out. some breeds just shed all the time, some of mine will start to molt then stop then a few days later start again then stop sometimes it's an all the time thing. i would say he's fine as long as he isn't pulling his hair. My rabbits each get a toilet paper tubes stuffed with hay each day and it keeps them busy for hours chewing. phone books, fruit wood sticks, and other chew toys will also work. rabbit shedding fur everywhere: to keep your rabbit healthy and to not have fur flying everywhere, you should practice regular grooming sessions with your bunny..
